CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS FOR PHYSICIANS

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of Penn State College of Medicine and the Society for Research on Nicotine and Tobacco. Penn State College of Medicine is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing education for physicians.

Physicians who have completed an M.D., D.O., or equivalent medical degree from another country, or who have obtained a Fifth Pathway certificate, are eligible to receive AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM.

 

REQUIREMENTS TO RECEIVE CREDIT

Evaluation of the sessions is integral to the education process. To receive AMA PRA Category 1 credit(s)TM credit, participants are required to:

A. Complete the attendance form, indicating only those sessions attended in their entirety;

B. Complete the overall evaluation form and corresponding individual evaluations pages; and

C. Return the forms to the registration table to receive CME Certificate. 

 

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT FOR PSYCHOLOGISTS

Continuing education credits have been approved for licensed psychologists. Postgraduate Institute for Medicine (PIM) is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. PIM maintains responsibility for this program and its content. Full attendance at the sessions and evaluation of each individual session attended is required to receive CE credit for psychologists. Partial credit will not be awarded. Late arrivals or early departures will preclude awarding of CE credits.

 

REQUIREMENTS TO RECEIVE APA CREDIT

Evaluation of the sessions is integral to the education process. To receive American Psychological Association credit, participants are required to:

A. Complete the attendance form, indicating only those sessions attended in their entirety;

B. Complete the overall evaluation form and corresponding individual evaluation pages; and

C. Return the forms to the registration table to receive Certificate of Attendance; official certificate of credit will be issued by PIM within 4 weeks of the conference.

 

DISCLOSURE NOTIFICATION FOR SPEAKERS:

The SRNT Annual Meeting has been approved for AMA credit for physicians through the joint sponsorship of SRNT and Penn State College of Medicine.  As a component of granting this credit, all speakers and planning committee members must disclose all financial relationships with pharmaceutical companies, biomedical device manufacturers, and other healthcare-related for-profit entities so that we can resolve any potential conflict of interest.

 

All oral presenters are required to include a disclosure slide with your presentation that includes the following information:

1. Funding sources for presented work; list all.

2. Industry funding to the investigator in the last five years; list all (Pharma, Other, Corporate).

3. Off-label medication uses discussed.

 

Financial interest or other relationships may include grants or research support, employee, consultant, stockholder, member of speakers’ bureau, owner of a company or product, designer of a product, etc. Submitted disclosure information from EVERY speaker will be summarized and provided to the program audience.  Speakers who do not provide disclosure information will not be able to present at the meeting.  If you are presenting at more than one session, you may complete one disclosure for multiple presentations, it is not necessary to complete a disclosure for each topic.  Please enter each topic separately in the Title/Topic of presentation field.

DISCLOSURE NOTIFICATION FOR POSTER PRESENTERS:

All poster presenters are required to address potential conflicts of interest directly on their poster or in an accompanying handout at the meeting. If there is a potential conflict of interest that must be noted on the poster or if there is no conflict of interest that should be noted on the poster as well. Poster presenters are no longer required to submit a disclosure and bio-sketch in advance.
