Doubletree Paradise Valley Resort Accommodations
The Doubletree Paradise Valley Resort is located in beautiful Scottsdale. Paradise Valley Resort is a 22-acre oasis of towering palms, manicured gardens, and pools. Paradise Valley is close to a wealth of fine restaurants, shop and galleries in historic "old town" Scottsdale. Amenities include two swimming pools and whirlpools, full service fitness center, health spa, tennis courts, indoor racquetball courts, water sports putting green, bicycle rentals, jeep tours, horseback riding and nearby championship golf.

The SRNT room rate is $189 for a single or double occupancy. An 11.67%. state and local tax is not included in the above rates. When reserving your room, please refer to the SRNT Annual Meeting in order to be eligible for the discount rates. The reservation deadline is Wednesday, January 21, 2004. Room rates cannot be guaranteed after that date. RESERVE YOUR ROOM EARLY in case the block at the hotel sells out before January 21, 2004. Rooms will be reserved on a first come, first served basis.

Student/Government Per Diem Housing
SRNT has contacted with the Marriott Fairfield Inn and the Chaparral Suites Resort to offer alternative housing for students and for attendees who are required to make reservations with the government per diem restrictions. Air Travel
Plan your airline arrangements to Phoenix early! SRNT has negotiated contracts with Delta, United and Northwest Airlines for discount travel to Phoenix, Arizona, for the 2004 Annual Meeting.

Northwest Airlines will provide a discount of $25-$100 depending on the cost of your airline ticket. Feel free to price this out by calling Burkhalter Travel.

Delta Airlines will provide a 5% discount off the lowest applicable fare for which you qualify or a 10% discount if your ticket is purchased more than 60 days in advance of your travel.

United Airlines will provide a 5% discount off of the lowest applicable fare for which you qualify, or a 10% discount if your ticket is purchased more than 30 days in advance of your travel.

To make a flight reservation, ontact Burkhalter Travel at 1-800-556-9286 or 1-608-833-9339 (hit #0 and ask for the group department) from 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. (CST) Monday through Friday. To obtain the discount, please refer to the SRNT Annual Meeting when making your reservations. Fare restrictions and cancellation penalties may apply to your travel. Be sure to have the agent advise you of any applicable restrictions.

Burkhalter Travel will book your travel on the air carrier offering the greatest discount, even if that carrier is not one of the airlines offering a contracted rate.

Ground Transportation
Car Rental
Avis has been selected as the rental car agency for the SRNT Annual Meeting. To make your reservations, call Avis at (800) 331-1600 or visit them online at http://avis.com. To receive your discounted rate, please refer to the discount number: J990780. Avis also has a rental desk at the Doubletree Paradise Valley Resort.

Parking
Parking at the Doubletree Paradise Valley Resort is complimentary.

Super Shuttle
Super Shuttle offers transportation to and from the airport to the Doubletree Hotel. The fare is $12.00 per person, one way. To arrange for your transportation to the hotel, follow the Ground Transportation signs fom the baggage claim area at the airport. Look for the Super Shuttle representative. Safety Hints

Leave a copy of your itinerary with family or friends at home so that you can be contacted in case of an emergency.
Do not leave your luggage unattended in public areas. Do not accept packages from strangers.
For emergency aid of any kind, call 911 from any telephone outside of the hotel. Consult the material located within your room for emergency procedures at the hotel.
Review fire safety procedures in your hotel room. Note the location of the fire exits in relationship to your hotel room.
Ask at the front desk or concierge desk about the neighborhood around the hotel so you know what streets to avoid.
Don’t wear your badge outside of the hotel.
Don’t answer the door in your hotel room without verifying who it is. If a person claims to be an employee, call the front desk and ask if someone from their staff is supposed to have access to your room and for what purpose.
When returning to your hotel late in the evening, use the main entrance of the hotel. Be observant and look around before entering parking lots.
To avoid being a target of crime, try not to wear conspicuous clothing and expensive jewelry and do not carry excessive amounts of money or unnecessary credit cards.
Close the door securely whenever you are in your room and use all of the locking devices provided.
Check to see that any sliding glass doors or windows and any connecting room doors are locked.
Keep your room key in a safe place on your person when at the hotel bar or dining room. Secure your purse by wrapping the strap across your shoulder; carry your wallet in an inside pocket.
Do not draw attention to yourself by displaying large amounts of cash or expensive jewelry.
Place all valuables in the hotel’s safe deposit box.
Do not leave any items of value in your vehicle in the hotel parking lot.
