The 2016 SRNT Annual Meeting will take place in the “windy” city of Chicago, Illinois. Chicago is a great place to visit. Day or night, you’ll find something to do:
319 acres dedicated to President Ulysses S. Grant. Home to Chicago’s biggest festivals and spectator events including Taste of Chicago. Grant Park contains performance venues, gardens, artwork, and sporting and harbor facilities.
Home for 32,000 rescued and rehabilitated marine life from all over the globe. The Shed Aquarium focuses on educating people about sustainable practices and awareness for the preservation of marine animals. Visit their many exhibits that feature life from the Arctic to the Amazon.
Founded in 1893 as the Columbian Museum of Chicago. It is a temporary home for traveling exhibitions of Mummies: Images of the Afterlife, The Machine Inside: Biomechanics, 50 Years of Powwow, and many more. Visit their exhibitions of cultural artifacts, Sue the T-Rex, The Hall of Gems and many more.
Known as America’s first planetarium. It contains the collections of astronomical instruments dating back to the 12 century. You can watch sky shows in one of three full sized theaters, explore the Solar System, walk through the Universe, and visit the historic Atwood Sphere.
The Magnificent Mile is a 13-block stretch of Michigan Ave in the heart of Chicago. There is plenty to do and see with many shopping outlets, restaurants, live music venues, museums and spas. Celebrate the beginning of the holidays with the lighting of Michigan Ave starting with a parade and fireworks.
The newly renovated, more eco friendly Navy Pier has something for everyone. A fun public gathering place to shop and dine. Explore the Children’s Museum. Stay for a movie or listen to music on the pier. Don’t forget to take in the Chicago lakefront on one of many available cruises.
Built in three stages between 1922 and 1939 at a total cost of $13 million as The Municipal Grant Park Stadium. Renamed Soldier Field within a year of its opening. Soldier Field is a host to various concerts, rodeos, thrill shows circuses, fireworks, and sporting events. Take a public or private tour and browse the gift shop.
