Tenth annual SRNT meeting February 18-21, Doubletree
Paradise Valley Resort, Scottsdale, AZ

The Program Committee has organized another great conference for SRNT this year. In addition to the scenic locale and temperate climate, the conference will provide thought-provoking presentations and the opportunity to visit with friends and establish new collaborations.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Society for Research on Nicotine and Tobacco. The meeting program will celebrate SRNT’s progress and growth during its first decade, and address its future course. The Annual Meeting will also feature sessions describing cutting-edge basic and clinical research in nicotine and tobacco. Symposia, paper, and poster sessions will be augmented by other events. In addition, there will be exciting pre-conference meetings.

The Preliminary Program is now available at: www.srnt.org/meeting/2004/prelim.html.

Program highlights include:

  • Keynote address by Dr. Nora D. Volkow, the new Director of the National Institute on Drug Abuse.
  • Theme lectures to be given by Judith D. Wilkenfeld, J.D., Director, International Programs, Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, Dr. David Balfour, Professor of Behavioural Pharmacology in The University of Dundee Medical School, and Dr. Stephen Tiffany, Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Utah School of Medicine.
  • Presentations and lectures by award winners, including Dr. Ovide Pomerleau, Professor of Psychology, University of Michigan (the recipient of the 2004 Ove Ferno Award for Clinical Research on Nicotine and Tobacco), and several prestigious Young Investigators and travel award winners.

We look forward to seeing you in Scottsdale!
