From the Editor

Dear SRNT'ers,

In order to streamline the distribution process for the Newsletter, we have redesigned the Newsletter (yet again). As the technology changes, so do we. After reviewing several choices, we decided to house the Newsletter on the SRNT web site and create an html document "splash page" to give you an overview of the topics covered in the Newsletter. By clicking on the links contained in the splash page, you can view either the entire Newsletter or only those articles or features of interest to you.

The splash page also contains links to other web sites that contain information related to each article. I hope you find this additional information useful. We have also included some pretty pictures, just to keep you engaged.

Since this is our first issue in this format, we would greatly appreciate it if you would email me (judith@ori.org) or the Webmaster (jhofmann@reesgroupinc.com) if you have any suggestions for improvement or experience any problems. It seems that the Newsletter is always a work in progress!

As usual, heartfelt thanks go out to the many members who submitted highlights, publications, and articles. We greatly appreciate your input. Special thanks for this issue go to Nancy Rigotti, Andri

Aristotelous, Peter Hajek, and Ted Marcy, for taking time out of their busy schedules to write articles for this issue. I am eternally indebted to Christine Cody for her invaluable assistance with editing and production, and to Erika Westling for the Newsletter layout. In addition, I want to express my appreciation to John Hofmann, Beth Klipping, and the SRNT Newsletter Review Committee for assisting in the development and testing of the new format.

Finally, I am still looking for someone to take over as Editor of this Newsletter, beginning in February 2004. This is a wonderful opportunity to network and become recognized by the esteemed members of SRNT. I have enjoyed my stint as Editor, and highly recommend it! If you are interested, or know of someone whom you think would make a good Editor, please email or call me.

As always, I welcome your suggestions, contributions, comments, letters, and feedback on both content and format. Please do not hesitate to contact me at judith@ori.org, or by more-traditional methods.
