SRNT AWARDS GIVEN ANNUALLY

Jarvik-Russell Early Career Award

  • Honors SRNT members who have made extraordinary contributions to the field of nicotine and tobacco research within 7 years of receiving their terminal degree.
  • Winners receive a $1,000 prize, a plaque, and an expense-paid trip to the SRNT Annual Meeting to receive the award and present a lecture on their research.

John Slade Award

  • Honors SRNT members who have made outstanding contributions to public health and tobacco control through science-based public policy and public advocacy.
  • Winners receive a plaque and expense-paid trip to attend the Annual Meeting (no lecture)

 

New Investigator Travel Award

  • Honors up to three new investigators with outstanding conference abstracts, selected by the Program Committee Co-chairs
  • Winners receive a $1,000 travel award and present their research during the "Jarvik-Russell Early Career" plenary session

 

SRNT AWARDS GIVEN TRI-ANNUALLY

Doll-Wynder Award (2017, 2020, 2023, 2026)

  • Honors scientists who have made groundbreaking advances in public health, public policy or epidemiological research. 
  • The award consists of a $2,000 prize, a plaque and an expense-paid trip to the SRNT Annual Meeting to present a plenary lecture of the awardee's research.

Ferno Award (2016, 2019, 2022, 2025)

  • Honors scientists who have made groundbreaking advances in clinical research in one of three areas: (1) the pharmacological and behavioral actions of nicotine; (2) increased understanding on why people use tobacco; or (3) interventions to prevent tobacco use, to encourage or help tobacco users stop, and/or to reduce the adverse effects of tobacco use.
  • The award consists of a $2000 prize, a plaque and an expense-paid trip to the SRNT Annual Meeting to present a plenary lecture on the awardee's research.

Langley Award for Basic Research on Nicotine and Tobacco
(2018, 2021, 2024, 2027)

  • Honors scientists who have made groundbreaking advances in basic nicotine research in the areas of pharmacology, neuroscience and/or genetics.
  • The award consists of a $2,000 prize, a plaque and an expense-paid trip to the SRNT Annual Meeting to present a plenary lecture of the awardee's research.

 

Nomination Deadline is June 15, 2020.
